Benefits of Avocado on African Natural Hair

Hi Friends, my natural hair journey has been quite interesting as my creativity in hair styling continues to unfold.
This week I donned a simple hair style that made many ladies begin to ask more questions about going natural.

A friend of mine said “Nanji I can see that this is for real, it is not a joke, another colleague said WOW Nanji you have completely turned around from human extensions and all sorts to this natural look, but I love it”.
And you know what……….. I really feel good, thanks guys.

Tips for Natural Hair /Skin Maintainance and Style

Dear friends may i take the liberty to educate us abit on maintainance for your Natural Hair the organic way.

The fun thing is you can achieve modern styles and manageble textures if you nuture and maintain your hair the right way without chemicals.

While i wish to shed some light on this please note that we all have different hair and skin types and requirements.

I might do better with cocoa butter while another might thrive with Aloe Vera. However in my opinion, apart from extreme conditions like alergies, generally products from nature go well with almost everyone.

Shea Butter

Shea Butter as an excellent moisturiser; easily obtained from local markets ( check hygiene, i would recommend buying the whiter ones as the colored ones are normally old or mixed with dirt). This wonder product hydrates your hair and skin without clogging pores, restores luster to skin and damaged hair.

Healing Properties

Shea butter contains remarkable healing properties for various skin aliments. Unrefined, it has one of the largest healing capacities and contains very special natural ingredients that are ideal for healthier skin.
Shea butters makeup of vitamin E, vitamin A and cinnamic acid enhances the healing of wounds and improves the elimination of scars.

shea butter contains several natural anti-inflammatory agents. Clinical studies have proven that with routine use your skin actually gets softer, smoother, and better looking. other special benefits for skin ailments, include blemish, itch, sunburn, small skin wounds, eczema, skin allergy and wrinkle elimination.  Shea Butter is unique as a one stop personal care product.

Shea butter contains natural UV sun protection. Daily use of shea butter on the face and body drastically reduces sun exposure which in turn slows down the rate of aging due to external factors. Shea butter also acts as a natural mantle against elements of cigarette smoke, smog and chemical pollutants in the atmosphere.

Constant use of shea butter, in addition to sun screen products before and after exposure to the sun, leaves your skin with a satiny finish and a healthy tan.

Shea butter also maintains the elasticity of the skin and repairs cellular degeneration.

Shea butter for Hair Care

For revitalizing the hair, one day prior to shampooing, massage your hair with shea butter and wrap it in a hot towel—- your natural keratin will absorb all that is required. For very dry hair, ten minutes after shampooing, apply shea butter to bring brightness and life to your hair.
Presonally, i cold or hot steam my hair with it, and it keeps it super soft and silky(:

Aloe Vera for the skin is next......

Back to our Roots

African Women, It’s time to end the hair abuse and embrace what God has given us through Mother Nature.
As the world goes organic; reliance on chemicals to refine hair and make us feel good should be not be the way to go.
I wonder what this is all about anyway, go to any salon now, and meet the horror movies called ladies as we take off those weaves, extensions, the Peruvian/Brazilian Indian and all the “ian” hair of this world taken from God knows where, “What is revealed”……………. a scary half bald, receded at the roots, glamour less thing, and worst still take of all the foundation and tint and Jesus help you if she had falsies for lashes too…. and they take those off as well!, Uuuuuuggghh!!!!!!,   men before you choose please make sure you see us  mother nature” mode, then decide.
Ladies, as one of you, I mean no harm; I really don’t, love you all to bits and will do all I can to empower a woman, at least mentally.
But….Please…. love yourself, let’s go back to yesteryears, we could even funkify the plaits, the weaving, threading, I’ve seen this done in Lagos, we could have natural hair saloons, dread locks are cool but should this be the only option?
I wore my hair in a perfect fro the other day; it was a bit lower than Michael Jackson’s of the 70’s. It took me a year to grow it out like that and I summoned up courage to take it to work.
Those who were soul people with depth and appreciation loved it and cheered, some (Jealous ones) scoffed and sarcastically asked me where I bought such a natural looking weave,so that they could get it themselves, some asked me sourly if I were broke.
Within a week I went back to my weaves and fake glamour, one of the real sisters actually came up to me and confessed to being extremely jealous of my natural hair that day considering she had none left.
My lovely sisters from Nubian/Negro or otherwise black origins, please let us come together and decide to go natural and beautiful again, no more chemicals, no more baldness, no more stress, just textured, natural, afro, kinky, nappy, coily, twisted or locked up Afro-hair.
You’ll even sleep better and live longer (smile).
